Thomas Macaulay
Thomas Macaulay [Thomas Macaulay]
(1800–59) an English writer and politician. His best-known works are his ↑unfinished History of England, which was a great influence on later writers of history, and ↑Lays of Ancient Rome. He was a ↑Member of Parliament and Secretary of War (1839–41), and was made a ↑baron in 1857.
